[Windows 8] YouTube8, my first Windows 8 application, available on the Microsoft Store !
June 20th, 2012 | Posted by in .NET | Article | HTML5 | Windows 8 | WinJS | WinRT | Read: 1,301On my spare time, I’ve started a few weeks ago to work on a small Windows 8 application that allow users to look for YouTube videos and play them directly in the application.
I’m proud to announce that the application is now live on the Microsoft Store and any Windows 8 Release Preview users can download it and play with it !
For now, there are some issues with some videos that cannot be played directly in the app but I’ll try to improve this part (and add more features) in the next version !
Here are some screenshots:

I hope you’ll enjoy it !

Nice app, but i cannot download it. Please help me…. :D
Hi Prometh!
To download YouTube8, you just need to install Windows 8 then launch the Windows Store. Once this one is loaded, activate the Search using Windows Key + C (or use the Charms bar) and search for “youtube”: you should find YouTube8 in the results :)
You can also use this link to display it in your browser then launch the Windows Store from here: http://apps.microsoft.com/webpdp/app/youtube8/79013191-f4d6-4a99-bc1a-a77163b043e2
Let me know if that works!
Thanks,
Maybe its not available in my country or something else. There is not in my store, but i can see the app on the link what you gave me, but i can’t see a download button, just the information of the app. I have Windows 8 release preview.
What is your country ? Currently, the application is available in France, US and other English countries.
What a racist bastards. Just kidding :D. Im from Hungary.
